Hello,​

Hope your day is going well today! My name is Allie Ulness I recently graduated in May 2022 from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a bachelor's degree in Social Work. I am now entering the workforce, looking for a full-time job in helping to serve others. I'm originally from the Twin Cities in Minnesota. However, beginning of August I will be moving to Fort Collins, Colorado to pursue a career working with the unhoused population. Additionally, with the hopes after two years of field experience to go get my MSW.

During my last semester of undergrad at my full-time internship which was at L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library in Eau Claire, WI. At this internship site I learned how the different levels social work function at the micro, mezzo, and macro levels. At this internship site I was primarily working with the population experiencing homelessness. When working with these clients they have broaden my perspective so much on how we need to be grateful for everything we have in life, be aware of all our privileges.  

 

At my internship I worked one-on-one with my supervisor and attended agency inter-collaboration meetings. Worked with clients experiencing homelessness by providing them with resources, referrals, and just even human connection. Through my internship experience I gained a lot of knowledge and skills that have made me feel prepared to enter the field. 

 

Overall my passion and mission in life is to serve others and to create change to build a better society!
