Service Activities/Reflection

Through service activities I learned the importance of community involvement, human connection for individuals, and helping others in need.

Volunteer

Volunteered at the local day time resource center called Positive Avenues. Served people experiencing homelessness there. Gained new perspectives and learned how a food pantry functions.

Advocacy

Part of my advocacy besides writing letters was creating an informational guide for business owners downtown. To inform them why people experience homelessness, to lessen the stigma. Along with that made resource sheets of all the resources located in Eau Claire, WI.

Instructional Assistant

The course SW 320: Generalist Social Work Practice with Individuals I was asked to be a teachers assistant. Through this experience I gained some more experience and skills through observing, giving feedback, communication, time-management, etc.
